Today - National Historic Trail

Today, there is much hope for The Old Spanish Trail in terms of tourism potential, further study and preservation.

There has been a strong effort to preserve the trail and several monuments have been placed along the trail to remind us of the importance of this once well-traveled route.

Along highways 56, 91, and Interstate 15 in southern Utah, The Old Spanish Trail is passed, crossed, and followed in numerous places.

Utah historians have documented The Old Spanish Trail history for more than 50 years and are currently working on its preservation.
