The Pacific Crest Trail - National Scenic Trail

The Pacific Crest Trail was established as one of the first National Scenic Trails in 1968 and formally dedicated in 1993. This marked the completion of the Nations longest continuous footpath.

The Pacific Crest Trail is a wilderness footpath that covers 2650 miles across three western states from Mexico to Canada, California to Oregon and across Washington into Canada.

The Pacific Crest Trail zigzags across the crest to the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Mountains. In passing you will see some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.

The Pacific Crest Trail also includes seven National Parks, twenty-four National Forests, and thirty-three wilderness areas.
This long trail has a lot of diversity from the granite peaks of the Sierra Nevada where the elevation is over 11,000 feet to the hot Mojave Desert.
From jagged lava flows in central Oregon to the cool forest in northern Washington, The Pacific Crest Trail reveals its beauty of the landscape in all of the west coast including Yosemite National Park and Sequoia National Park in California.

Mt. Rainier in Washington Crater Lake and Mt. Hood in Oregon are also along the National Scenic Trail.

Higher elevations around Crater Lake get some of the biggest and best snowfalls in the winter. Klamath Falls basks in the 80's during summertime with occasional thunderstorms and plenty of snow in the winter.
Hiking along The Pacific Crest Trail takes about 6 months to complete.
