Butch Cassidy - Cherokee Trail or The Trail of Tears

Along the southern route of the Cherokee Trail was a popular hideout for a Utah native named Butch Cassidy and 100 members of his "Wild Bunch Outlaw Gang". By the time of the California Gold Rush the trail was already serving Front Range, connecting between The Santa Fe Trail to the south and Trail of Oregon to the north.

The Cherokee Trail was never primarily an emigrant route like Trail of Oregon, nor a primarily route of commerce like The Santa Fe Trail. Instead it always remained primarily the Trail of Adventurers, the nomadic Indians, the Spanish soldiers, the Rocky Mountain fur trappers, the Indian Traders, the Explorers, the Dragoon from Fort Leavenworth, and the gold seekers.

It is the stories of these adventures and the Cherokee Indians that need to be told, along The Trail of Tears.
