Casper Wyoming - Tales from the Trail

You can see wildlife wondering the streets of Casper, Wyoming. If you drive around Casper on Wyoming Blvd. near the Events Center you can get a close look at the antelope. It is un-believable to see these animals right in town.

Antelope are unique and are the fastest hoofed animals in the world. Only a cheetah can top their speed. Their eyesight is 8 times that of us humans. Raising and lowering the hair on their body is how they control their body temperature and is also used as an alert system to warn of dangers. Male and female antelope can have horns. The males are much bigger at 16 inches or more. At the end of their horns are prongs; these antelope are often referred to as pronghorn antelope. Most fawns are born during the last week of May or the first two weeks of June. Twins are normal for a mature doe.

How about deer eating on your lawn?
You can see that here also.

I have read where they want to re-instate the buffalo to the wild, but that is another tale from the trail.
