In search of the Old West - Tales from the Trail

Our search started, early spring 2003.
From Evanston, Wyoming to Rock Springs, up to South Pass and into Lander.
Lander, Wyoming is rich with history, pioneers, trails, and Indians. The green hills are abundant with antelope. There are more of them in that one state than I have ever seen before. Just alongside the highway are herds of two to one hundred or more. Against the green grass, the unmistakable white butts really shine.
The cutest thing I have ever seen was a baby one with its mother. The calf only reached to the kneecaps of the mother.

Wyoming is one of the most typical western states I know of.
Cowboys wearing Stetson hats, trucks, and American apple pie are still very popular.

We started out to look for the Old West, its Pioneers, and trails near South Pass, Wyoming. We looked for Indians, and information about Sacagawea at Lander, Wyoming. We found all that and more. Wyoming is a western state that is still part of the Old West and is going to stay that way for years to come.
